* Safari and Google Chrome browsers are not supported for the GPS tracking service at this time. Please note the following in using this service. The GPS module is attached to the escort vehicle which is accompanying Jonathan on the road and Jonathan’s location is indicated by a green star on the map. The accuracy of the depiction of Jonathan’s actual position, and the continuity of tracking, is determined by signal coverage and strength when the network is communicating with the GPS device. Generally speaking Jonathan’s position will be updated by the system at intervals of between 1 and 2 minutes however there could be longer periods of time before this information is displayed on our web site. Click here for a high level description of the GPS tracking process. On running days, during running hours, the vehicle’s location will normally be consistent with Jonathan’s. The GPS device also reports estimated vehicle speed and direction based on GPS calculations. A continued display of a speed in excess of 15 km per hour most likely indicates that the run is in “rest mode” or that the vehicle is attending to a short-term errand relevant to the run. Outside of running hours, and on non-running days, the vehicle speed, direction, and location may not be the same as Jonathan’s activities at that time. Regardless of GPS reports Jonathan’s progress is updated daily on the Jonathan’s Route and Schedule page under the Where and When tab. |
